More WORKSHOP

Lesson#4
This lesson was fun to do. "Wild Times" was created with a phone book page (went to the back of the book for that one!). We were to use acrylic paint and glazing medium for color. I added stickers and went around edge with marker. "Stars" was created with string, gesso, acrylic paints and pieces from a piece of nostalgic paper. "DragonFly" was created using white tissue paper glued to cardstock. Gel medium was applied then I used metallic acrylic paint. Applied stickers.

TEW Lesson#3
More glossy cardstock and resist technique. To get the stripe effect we put down masking tape, used our inks, moved the tape and continued coloring in that manner. I then came back with a contrasing ink back over the leaves.

WOW! Now I'm caught up on posting lessons!

ATC and TEW Workshops

Lesson #3

Lesson 3 for the ATC Workshop. The first one we used magazine paper. Don't think the "inks" showed very well but it's still ok. The second one we used magazine paper again and gesso'd over it but not enough to "white out" the picture underneath. Went back over it with a fine black marker then added a little color. The third one was a lot of fun. Again used magazine paper. Took Elmer's glue and randonly laid some around. Let it dry then took Nevr-dull and "wiped out" some of the magazine picture. The "ink" under the glue wasn't affected and acted as a resist. Added color back in with oil pastels and attached the monkey.

Lesson 2

This card was made for TEW. We used the resist technique again. This time we took wet tissue paper scraps and laid them about. Added color back in. The light purple splotches are the tissue paper. The light green was the other tissue color. Then added color back in. This was done on white glossy card stock.

THE NEW YEAR

I can't believe it's the middle of January already! What have I been doing that I haven't done ANY posting until now?Well, one of the groups I belong to is doing different workshop via the internet and using a book. I decided to join not one but two of them! Soooo...I've been a busy little bee if not maybe a little crazy for joining two but I'm having so much fun! Isn't that the point?! Not to mention learning lots. When you see some of the artwork of the others its all so beautiful. It is so much fun seeing how someone else interprets the lessons. It's also very inspiring. There are some very talented people in the group. The workshops I chose were an ATC workshop (ATCW) using Bernie Berlin's Artist Trading Card Workshop book and the other workshop is called Textural Effects using Nancy Curry's book Textural Effects for Rubber Stamping (TEW). Both are excellant books and I highly recommend them. Anyhow for the first lesson on ATCs here's what I did - Intutive Watercolor / Watercolor On Baby Wipes / Paint On Paper Towels. Second lesson was - Leafing Pen Resist / Inky Layers / Stencils.

LESSON #1 and LESSON #2

For TEW we're doing resist techniques. Here's my lesson #1:
