BIRTHDAY BOX'S

I made these boxes for Eric and Lori's birthday that we celebrated at our house. We told each of the that it was the other's birthday so they wouldn't know that it was a surprise for both!

For Eric I chose to alter an Altoid Tin. I used the Ultra Embossing method from a class I taught (you can see the card in an earlier post). I sanded the top, applied gesso, alcohol inks, and 2 layers of UTEE. When it was cooled I dabbed the top with Top Boss, added some Perfect Pearls, and more UTEE heating from a bit of a distance to it wouldn't all blow off! When that was cool I stamped with Staz On. On the inside I placed pictures of the party.
Lori received an altered jewelry box. I painted the bottom with a metallic blue acrylic paint. The top I covered with Washi paper. Added the ribbon and other embellishments. She also got pictures.

Ultra Embossing Class

I know it's hard to tell but this card was done with UTEE, alcohol inks, and Perfect Pearls. I used the inks to color my paper first. Next I put three layers of UTEE (heat, add more UTEE, heat etc). When it cooled I covered it with Top Boss and brushed with Perfect Pearls. Added more UTEE on top of that and from a distance heated again. When it heats up again, the PP will drop down into the UTEE giving it a sparkle. After it cooled, I stamped with Staz On.

INCHIES

My first attempt at doing inchies! These were done for a swap. I had a lot of fun once I got over the initial size! I'm thinking how much can you get in an inch. Well, now I know. Will I do them again?.....YES!

ATC Swap

My swaps for June. Our theme was 4th of July and Picnic. The 4th was done with stickers and cut outs. The watermellon and picnic basket was a stencil that I used spackling paste then colored with markers. Bottom picnic basket was stamped then I added a small piece of red and white checkered paper coming out of the basket. I like having the themes and coming up with the ideas. Swap for August is collage, beach or camping. Should be lots of fun!

TEW Workshop

These are the last 2 lessons of the book. Sad that it's ending as it's been a lot of fun. Definately got me going outside my box! The flower card background was done with glossy white, watercolor crayons and water. "Musician" was done with white glossy and inks then stamped over when dry.

TEW Workshop

This lesson required us to do some embossing and "staining" if you will on mulberry paper. The dragonflies were stamped and embossed. The colors were added then the whole sheet was ironed to remove the embossing.
"Journey" was done using glossy white and a resist technique also.
My "Piano Hinge Book". Made with glossy white paper and inks. Used wire and beads to hold it all in place. Mizuhiki cord as the closure.
