PRAYER/STORY BOARD

For this board I used acrylic paints in cream, light turquoise and apricot. I painted little dabs then rubbed in with a paper towel using each paint seperately. Stamped the backgrounds once the paint was dry. Used the premade tags and used the DTP with coordinating inks. Stamped and layered the words. Stamped a flourish on the backs. Colored the self adhesive hooks with markers.

PRAYER and/or STORY BOARDS

This is a prayer board I made as a possible project for the kids at my church. I scaled it down from a possible 12 to 3. I found the project in one of my MANY books. For this one I took an 8x11 Artist's Canvas and did DTP (or canvas) using distressed inks. I used a yellow, an orange and a red. Once it was dried I took swirl stamps (in brown) and stamped in the cornors. I used tags (the ones already made!) and did DTP with the same inks. When they dried I stamped and layered the words to the front then applied the flowers. I used self adhesive "hooks" colored with markers and wiped off.

KIDS VBS ART CAMP

This project was done by the K-5 kids at my church. This was the sample that I made for them. The kids got to paint their frames the blue. I made the flowers/leaves with colored ink and embossed clear. Then I cut them out. Once the paint was dry the kids got to glue them on. The picture was something I had and just put in the frame. They had a lot of fun.

WELCOME CARDS

I made these cards for the welcome committee. The first one was stamped in black on a pale blue paint chip called, "Winding River". I colored it in with colored pencils. Mounted it with green on white cardstock. Added the fall leaves. Second card was stamped on a "tri-color" paint chip. The first color on it is called "November Foliage". Put a background strip of paper behind the windows and added the leaves. The "King" below was stamped on a paint chip called "Oak Cask" in brown and mounted on brown cardstock then a tan. Paper punched the top and ran the ribbon through. Mounted that to a piece of leopard print tissue paper.

CARD SWAP

I made these for a card swap. The girl in purple was stamped on white mulberry paper in purple. I placed a purple piece of cardstock behine her then attached it to the purple patterned paper. Attached that to white cardstock. Stamped the work "vintage" on the patterned paper and attached the flowers. Second girl was stamped on white cardstock. The background paper is washi paper. Panda 1 was stamped on white cardstock and shaded with brown around it. Attached it to washi paper and brown cardstock. Cut the bamboo strips from a paint chip. Second panda was stamped on white and cut out. Then mounted on brown paper and layered to the washi paper.

"BACK ON TRACK"

Isn't is amazing how we can get side tracked in life? I feel like I've been derailed and going down who knows what track! Between having all the home repairs done, getting ready for "back to school", more home repairs etc. etc. I took a different train for a while. Well, I'm hoping all that is over. I am now back on my "art-train" and have been doing some creating. So let's get started!

The ATC swap for August was Fall (trees, leaves etc.).
